Who is this for?
For leaders and other interested people including thought leaders in religion-spirituality, business, technology, and educators who want a deeper or broader understanding of topics and their implications for society. What works and what doesn’t, and what deserves deeper exploration?
This is especially for those working with new generations, which are currently the millennials and Generation Z, and find them challenging and unknowable.
Down the “know it all” rabbit hole
When you have accumulated a wealth of knowledge from education and experience, maybe you should be informative without being disrespectful about it. Actually I’m just Dorian and I’m part of the conversation, not the final word on anything. Just ask my wife who says I know nothing. Obviously I have a sense of humor.
I’m dedicated to not misinforming but to providing quality information and opinions. I think this is a prime directive.
Everything Everywhere All the Time image created by AI DALL·E 2, informed by thousands of images on the Internet. (Inspired by the award-winning sci-fi movie title Everything Everywhere All At Once with fantastic actress Michelle Yeoh. I like sci-fi - it opens your mind.)
Why, why, why?
Throughout my life, my focus has been on communication and informing others. But not just as a talking head, or an armchair critic, or someone who has to speak every day and backs themselves into an absurd corner - I have formal and informal education and direct experience in most of the fields I talk about. Feel free to disagree with me.
Of particular interest to me are the needs of people age 18 to 30, and spirituality. I research and write most of my articles for them.
I consider spirituality to be integral to things that science can’t examine directly that are the result of abstract thought: love, social and criminal justice, ethics, economic systems and fairness, creativity, beauty and aesthetics, social psychology, religion, and many other human inventions and endeavors. These are engaging and compelling.
Let’s make the world a better place.
Information usually doesn’t change attitudes but it can help create attitudes in those with open minds. I’m a founding financial supporter of both Springtide Research Institute, which does research into Generation Z, and of TED Talks and education which provides amazing research and experience from people on the cutting edge. I would love to hear that you support them.
Nearly all are welcome here!
I love to hear and discuss differences of opinion and to let others contribute their opinions. This broadens my opinions. Sometimes, such as with novels, I invite constructive critiques and with my marketing and focus group background, I am well versed in how to appreciate feedback.
Polarization is relatively normal. But in this age of extremist views where there is radical polarization spouted by mouthpieces who spit out endless torrents of propaganda on all sides - this is not welcome or tolerated.
Value proposition
It is my intention to post once a week and whenever there is a noteworthy topic. I publish a lot of free stuff elsewhere as well. Places with my free articles include Patheos and One Spirit Resources on religion and spirituality, and Visual Writer on writing in various fields.
I give away a lot for free or at very low cost such as many nonfiction books that took years to research and write that I feel can be a major benefit to people. These include books on future education and ministering to Generation Z.
I feel that basic knowledge should be free, while experience is what we should charge for, in a similar way to edX, which is supported by major universities. (I take their courses and you can earn degrees there).
My experience, having had several full careers which required both formal education and direct experience, I think is of significant value. So I will make some free posts and some paid posts.
To start, for full access during this first year, the first 500 subscriptions will be free for the first year. There will continue to be a lot of articles (posts) that are free for everyone.
Today I’m posting a free article about saving small towns.
Planned future articles are:
1. Seeing what you are not looking for (multiple articles)
2. Spirituality (multiple articles)
3. Effective Communications (multiple articles)
4. Effective Leadership (multiple articles)
5. Meaning in life (multiple articles)
So Look at my About Page-Profile and see if any of my education and experience I list there are of significant interest to you. Then please consider subscribing at some level.
The cool stuff

Wasn’t that cool?
If I’ve stirred your thoughts, I’ve done my job.
